All OVS soft shackles feature Dyneema, a low-friction fiber that enables braided synthetic lines to run smoothly through soft shackles. This advanced material often makes traditional snatch blocks unnecessary in situations where standard recovery techniques fall short. Dyneema rope boasts exceptional strength—an equivalent wire rope would need to be three times as thick, and even a premium stainless steel shackle with a 3/4-inch pin would offer less than half the breaking strength. Our soft shackle is capable of performing nearly every function of a metal shackle, and in many cases, it performs even better.
