All OVS soft shackles feature Dyneema, a low-friction fiber that allows braided synthetic line to run effortlessly through soft shackles. This innovative material often eliminates the need for a traditional snatch block in situations where standard recovery methods are insufficient. Dyneema rope is exceptionally strong—an equivalent wire rope would need to be three times as thick, and even a top-quality stainless steel shackle with a 3/4-inch pin would offer less than half the breaking strength. Our soft shackle can perform nearly every function of a metal shackle, often doing so more effectively.
